Tremembé aka Teremembé is an extinct unclassified language of Brazil. It was originally spoken by the Tremembé people, who once inhabited the northern Brazilian coasts from Pará to Ceará. The Tremembé were described as a "Tapuia" tribe - that is, not part of the dominant Tupi–Guarani groups of the coasts. Nonetheless, it is likely they borowed a lot of Tupi words from interaction with their Tupi neighbors.
